This week I visited the Ramside Hall Hotel and Spa for a treat with Alice. I’ve visited previously for a few parties and events that they host, and sometimes pop in for a cuppa with my parents if we’re out walking.
It’s a great venue, complete with a golf course, spa, hotel rooms, and a few restaurants. They have a lot of weddings there – I’m not surprised as the grounds are fab, and there’s something for everyone.
I think we caught the venue as they had just put their festive decorations up. The place was stunning, and looked very sophisticated – not a piece of tinsel in sight!
We were taken on a tour of the Spa facilities and told all about the packages they offer. It was great to know that if you are a member, you have access to the spa gym, pools and outdoor facilities. Very high end and expensive, but I think it’s worth it if you’re going to be spending almost every day there. The environment is so relaxed, and everyone is so friendly and welcoming.
After the tour we were taken through the restaurant which I’d describe as ‘relaxed fine dining’. The setting replicates the calming environment of the spa, and the food is a Thai fusion – my favourite!
We were treated to an absolute feast by the company, sushi, pad thai, satay chicken, spring rolls, and dim sum. The spread was absolutely fantastic and I think I had about 4 plates. Thai food is my ultimate favourite type of cuisine, there’s so many great flavours and I love seafood.
After wandering around the facilities, I can see that this is a really special place. It’s a place that’s loved by it’s members, and real high end luxury. A place you can relax, escape and work out (if that’s what you want to do!). It’s great for socialising or escaping on your own, a romantic weekend, a mini-break with the girls, or treating your Mum to a spa day.
After this we got to try out these fab facilities. We were given our robes and flip flops and then were told we had free reign of the facilities. I tried out the jacuzzi, outdoor jacuzzi and the hydro pool. I loved the look of the sauna and steam room but didn’t have time as I was enjoying the outside jacuzzi too much.
I’d definitely recommend this spa to anyone who’d like to feel special, relaxed or release some energy in the gym. Even if you don’t get any treatments, the atmosphere is pretty special here. Everyone is friendly (even the other users), and it feels like a secret special space that is quite sacred, almost like discovering a secret garden!
You can find out more about the hotel and spa on their website.
